Time for a Change

image of signpost hope and despair for haiku verse time for a change by author jenisecook.com

Your eyes flashed like sparks,
burning with wounding anger
seeking to hurt me.

This time, I’m wiser.
This time, I’m finally strong.
This time, my shield’s up.

My eyes flash with love,
burning with self protection.
You no longer win.
