Update – 5 November 2021: Changes | JeniseCook.com

And, Thanksgiving Gratitude

Autumn all across northern Arizona is… gorgeous! It’s not the east coast of the United States nor is it comparable to Colorado’s extensive color in the Rocky Mountains. However, our pockets of forests and riparian areas hold their own with fall colors.

Our photo-safari day trip to Red Rock State Park in Sedona a few weekends ago did not disappoint. We saw the best fall colors in several years!

As the seasons here change from summer to fall, followed by winter’s quick approach in a few months (with snow!!), some of my creative plans are also changing.

What’s going on?

What’s New?

First, we are fine, and we are healthy. Not much has changed with us since my August Newsletter except for new ideas and dreams. And, attempts at creating processes to go along with these new ideas.

So, what’s changing in my creative journey?

Publishing News

A big change for me is to stop focusing so much on submitting my works to be published. I was trying too hard in 2021 (way too hard), and I’m pulling back to regroup and focus on my craft. I want to enjoy the process of writing versus writing to submit to meet a numerical goal.

Silly me.

I want to self publish, and I’m studying and learning a great deal. I’m taking time to focus on the best self publishing path for me, and to follow that journey. My goal is to self publish and sell a couple of books in 2022, including “Changing of the Seasons”, my book of haiku verses.

Stay tuned!

Photography News

Being married to a photographer has benefits. We get outside when the weather’s nice, visit beautiful places, drive off the beaten path, and we try and capture some of that beauty via stills and video.

Selling Stock Images and Video

One creative change is that I want to sell my best still images and videos as stock downloads. I want to set up Mark’s gallery as well. We want to share beauty with others, and I’ll need time to study, learn, and implement. I’m excited about this change!

Creative Maker News

In 2019, I created a greeting card (religious) in various versions, for Easter, Sympathy, or blank for any sentiment.

This October, an idea for a Christmas card (religious) came to me, I wrote a verse, and I created a prototype to send to a few folks this December.

I’ll continue to work on more cards, so 2022 will have a nice selection to sell. (Plus, some digital freebies to download.)

My dream is to create some beauty and put it out there for others to enjoy if they choose to.

For now, visit my Greeting Cards page to see the few paper cards in my Catalog as of today. I plan to add digital eCards that you can download and share via email or post online.

So, these are the changes. Rushing to publish is now on the back burner.

Stay with me, as I will continue to publish updates on my blog!
