The Story Behind this Haiku

My husband, Mark Bently Crabbe, and I are native-born Californians who have lived in the north-central highlands of Arizona for over 11 years (as of this post’s published date). We former coastal/beach kids have fallen in love with the four seasons in our area, which is highland plains surrounded by Ponderosa pine forests.

Every autumn, we look forward to the seasonal change, as the deciduous trees in our rural county transform themselves into fall-color beauty.

Our town’s civic center has dozens of deciduous trees (terrific planning!). One day in autumn 2021, Mark and I parked and strolled under the golden canopy that adorned the parking lot. I know this sounds trite, but it was magical.

The featured image is but one of many photos (and video) I captured that day.

May this verse and the photo bring blessing and light your way! 🙂
