No One’s Home

black and white photo of apartments balconies no people anywhere

No one’s home today
empty looking patios
speak of better days
as we gladly leave our homes
to breathe fresh air and give smiles
again, faces free

The Story Behind this Haiku

The Haiku Challenge thread inspired my verse. I used the last line in another poet’s haiku as the first line in my verse.

To learn more about the Haiku Challenge, read: Sunset Caresses on my website.

There are rules for writing haiku verse, and then there are those who seek a more open composition, more freedom. Both approaches encourage poets to consider our five senses, and then get creative with the human sensory experience.

In that spirit, my last line reads: “sounds of love and light”.

Hmm.

Well, no need to try and figure out the last line as there isn’t some mystical meaning. However, I did create a challenge for the next person in the haiku thread.

<Evil laugh, LOL!>
