The monolith tour,
from aliens or artists
or are they the same?

The Story Behind the Verse

Boy howdy, that monolith sure made the news, from the Monticello District of Utah’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM). And then, monoliths appeared in other locations. My darling hubby and I discussed the “why” and the “how”, and he said an artist put the monolith in the Monticello district. Why? Because that’s just what artists do sometimes. They don’t need the world to know an art piece exists. The artist takes pleasure in knowing that it’s there.

I said aliens came during the night and installed it.

My husband is an artist (and a bit extraterrestrial), so I can write this haiku with his approval (not that I need it). Sometimes artists act like aliens.

So do some writers, LOL! (P. S. The Utah monolith was removed.)

Your Turn

What did you think of the media coverage of the monolith in Utah, or in other areas? Why did someone install it in a very remote place? Do you agree or disagree with its removal? Let’s chat in the Comments below.
