Blazing sun roasts me.
I melt into the desert
with no witnesses.

The Story behind this Haiku

Why did I compose a crime scene in haiku verse?

To be honest, I have no iea what I was thinking. The prompt word from Deborah, the Editor of House of Haiku, was “melt”. I sat in front of that ever-present blank screen and let the weird words flow. Out of the blue, it was like I heard a man’s voice in my thoughts.

Did a murder victim reach out to me from the grave?
