She walked out the front door, grateful to be free after a difficult year. Free to inhale deeply the crisp scent of the morning’s frost. Free to absorb the songbirds’ cheerful choruses.
Her freedom revived her for a few moments, until the lock-down officers clamped the handcuffs over her mittens.

Story prompt: “Revive”
As I watched from the U. S. the COVID-19 lock downs taking place in other countries and U. S. states, I imagined a scene where an individual risked all just to see, feel, and smell the outdoors once again. To feel revived.
Justin Deming, a fellow member of Scribophile and the former Editor in Chief of The Friday Fix on Medium, relaunched his online journal! Friday Fix Fiction is now platform independent, a stand-alone publication.
